ServiceMaster is ending 2009 on a high note with the addition of four new Merry Maids franchisees to its already strong network. The new franchisees all attended the Merry Maids training academy at ServiceMaster in Leicester at the end of November and began trading from December.
Franchise Sales Director Ken Dennis comments: “December is a really good time to start a Merry Maids business, the amount of enquiries from potential new customers increases around Christmas and New Year as people start to get their homes ready for the arrival of family and friends. Our new business owners all have a great opportunity at this time of year to get off to a good start for the New Year.”
Jonathan Dean has taken on Merry Maids of South Surrey and was attracted by the management franchise opportunity. He comments; “I investigated various opportunities during the course of my research and eventually came across Merry Maids through the British Franchise Association website. The initial investment required was relatively low whilst still providing me with a large patch with a great potential for growth. Having completed my training we have had a very busy couple of weeks quoting and leafleting and will start carrying out cleans from next week. We have taken on three cleaners initially to manage the workload and hope to be able to grow our client base and the team over the coming months.”
Merry Maids also welcomes Douglas and Suzanne English-Gent who will be operating Merry Maids of Nottingham Central. Douglas says: “We were looking for a management business opportunity and had looked at various opportunities in the area. We weren’t looking specifically for a franchise but the Merry Maids business model seemed a good fit for us as it allows us to manage a team of staff within a proven framework. We investigated further through the British Franchise Association website and eventually got in touch with ServiceMaster. We found out that an existing business in the Nottingham area was up for sale which had an established customer base but still had scope for growth. We have spent a couple of weeks in the business already having retained the existing work force and are looking to recruit and grow the team in the near future.”
The two additional businesses include Malcolm Roels who has taken on Merry Maids Oxford East and John Flye who has added Merry Maids Derby North to his existing ServiceMaster Clean franchise.
