About ServiceMaster

ServiceMaster was first established in the United States in 1929 as a small one man business in the Chicago area. The business had a carpet cleaning plant but introduced the innovation of cleaning carpets onsite at customer's houses. Rapid growth followed over the next 20 years and in 1949 the Company began expanding across the USA through the Franchising business model.

ServiceMaster franchising was introduced to the UK in 1959 where the first businesses were also involved in carpet and upholstery cleaning services. Additional services such as office cleaning (Contract Services), furniture repairs (Furniture Medic), maid services (Merry Maids) and Lawncare treatments (TruGreen) were added over the next 45 years and we now have over 700 franchise licenses established in Great Britain.

Today ServiceMaster is a blue chip franchisor and has franchised businesses in the Americas, Europe and the Far East. Over 10 million customer visits occur annually and there are 245,000 trained technicians. ServiceMaster regularly tops the Fortune 500 Service Company listing.

Trivia fact: ServiceMaster has the third largest fleet of vehicles on the road in the world!
