What is Graffiti?
This can include the defacing, damaging or destroying by the spraying of paint or marking of ink, chalk, dye, permanent markers or other similar substances on public, commercial & private buildings, structures and places, without the permission of the owners.
Why Do We Remove It?
The existence of the graffiti causes damage to the public by marring the visual attractiveness of the local area, adversely affecting the quality of life for companies and residents and harming an areas' reputation for livability. When graffiti is allowed to remain on a property and it is not promptly removed, it invites yet more markings and criminal activity, creating an atmosphere that deteriorates the quality of life, and fosters a general fear of crimes.
Experience has shown that removing graffiti as soon as it is reported is the best prevention against future graffiti. The vandal loses the ability to show off their work and we take away their territorial markings.
